The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of British main battle tank in 1:35 scale.

When it turned out that the primary tank Challenger 1 does not meet up to expectations, Vickers Defence Systems company began to work on the vehicle, which had to replace it. With the experience gathered on the older design, they’ve been able to complete the work on the new car Challenger 2 in 1989, after less than 3 years since its inception. Although seemingly both Challengers did not differ in appearance, the new tank used the latest technology and eliminated the flaws of the previous tank. The vehicle has a powerful second generation Chobham type armor, and on the front panel of armor, it has additional reactive armor, greatly reducing the possibility of its penetration. Measures put in Challenger provides a status as one of the safest tanks ever produced. This world phenomenon is the main armament. It is threaded with L30 120 mm cannon, which can shoot the of HESH or L26 shells with the core of depleted uranium. Challenger 2 also received a completely new system of fire control, called TOGS II with panoramic viewfinder, laser aim, and thermal imaging. The first major baptism of fire of the new tank was in Iraq. 120 Challengers II from the 7th Armoured Brigade took part in the battle of Basra, destroying a lot of the Iraqi vehicles, without any losses. Tanks that took part in this operation were also equipped with air filters, protection against sand, cooling and composite side skirts.

Tamiya kit allows assembly of the modern British Challenger 2 MBT model, in the basic or deserted version, with two crew members (commander and loader). Box includes 2 hull pieces, 5 sprues with model parts, transparent visors, screws to mount the idlers, mesh for cargo baskets, string, wire, rubber tracks and decals (allows reconstruction of vehicles from the 7th Armoured Brigade).

Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
