Real Colors Markers place AK's acrylic modelling paint in a self-contained felt-tip applicator, giving direct control over small base coats, hard-edged camouflage and individual details. The 34-colour range runs from general utility shades and metallics to RAL, RLM and cockpit colours. Use the point of the felt tip for narrow work or its side for broader strokes. The paint dries quickly, becomes waterproof and normally leaves a matt finish, although some pigments may appear slightly satin.

The acrylic formula has a high pigment concentration.
Successive coats can be layered without reactivating or blending the dried paint underneath.
Once dry, the paint resists smudging and can receive varnish or subsequent weathering products.
A white undercoat is recommended when maximum colour vibrancy is required.
The markers are intended for details, accessories, camouflage and small base coats rather than large model surfaces.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
