About This Product

Aves Apoxie Sculpt is a two-part epoxy compound made by Aves Studio in the USA. Mix equal parts of Part A and Part B together, and you get a smooth, clay-like putty that you can sculpt, shape, texture, and tool for 1–3 hours before it begins to set. After 24 hours it cures into a rock-hard, permanent material with a semi-gloss finish.

It works like modelling clay but bonds like an epoxy — meaning it sticks permanently to most surfaces without needing primer or separate adhesive. Once cured, it can be sanded, drilled, carved, tapped, filed, and painted just like any rigid material.

This is the 454 g (1 lb) tub set in Stone White — a soft, muted white with a ceramic-clay character, not a bright vivid white. If you need a crisp, bright white, Aves recommend their Super White compound instead. Each set contains one 227 g (8 oz) tub of Part A and one 227 g (8 oz) tub of Part B. A little goes a long way — hobbyists regularly report that 454 g lasts through dozens of projects.

Why Choose Stone White?

Clean base for painting — a light, neutral tone means paints go on true to colour without needing a heavy primer coat first.

Natural stone and marble effects — the muted white tone is ideal for sculpting columns, ruins, statuary, temple terrain, and architectural features that look convincing unpainted.

Easier to see detail — sculpted textures and fine lines show up clearly against the light surface, making it easier to assess your work as you go.

Colour mixing — mix Stone White Part A with any other Apoxie Sculpt Part A colour to lighten it or create pastel tones, then add equal Part B to activate.

Not bright white — unlike a stark white, Stone White has a softer, warmer character. It blends into light-coloured projects without the harshness of a pure white.

Why Hobbyists Love Apoxie Sculpt

Self-Hardening

How to Use — Quick Guide

1

Mix — take equal amounts of Part A and Part B. Knead together thoroughly until the colour is completely uniform with no streaks.

2

Sculpt — shape, texture, and detail your piece. You have 1–3 hours of working time. The 1-hour mark is often the sweet spot for fine detail.

3

Smooth — use water on your fingers or tools to smooth surfaces before cure. Cold water helps reduce sticking.

4

Cure — leave for 24 hours at room temperature. No oven, no UV, no heat needed.

5

Finish — once cured, sand, drill, carve, or paint as needed. Accepts all hobby paints and primers.

Tips from the Hobby Community

Use cold water to reduce sticking and help hold fine detail while sculpting.

Wear nitrile gloves — epoxy compounds are best handled with gloves. Aves recommends this in their own instructions.

Push through the sticky phase — Stone White can feel quite tacky in the first 10–20 minutes. This is normal. Wait it out and the material becomes much more pleasant to work with.

Wait for the 1-hour mark if you want to add fine details — the material firms up slightly and holds sharper impressions.

Mix only what you need — once combined, Parts A and B will cure whether you use them or not. Portion sensibly.

Clean tools with soap and water before the compound sets. Aves Finishing Solution handles stubborn residue.

Store sealed and cool — old stock can develop a surface film. Keep lids tight for maximum shelf life.

How Does It Compare?

vs. Green Stuff (Kneadatite)

Apoxie Sculpt gives a much longer working time (1–3 hours vs. ~30 min), smooths more easily with water, and cures rock-hard. Green Stuff stays slightly flexible — better for armour straps, cloaks, organic shapes. Rigid and sandable? Apoxie. Elastic and tough? Green Stuff.

vs. Milliput

Both cure hard and can be sanded. Milliput has a shorter working time and grittier texture. Apoxie Sculpt feels smoother and blends more easily. Milliput is cheaper per gram. Ultra-smooth sculpting? Apoxie. Quick affordable filling? Milliput.

vs. Polymer Clay (Sculpey, FIMO)

Polymer clay needs an oven and doesn't bond to other materials. Apoxie Sculpt cures at room temperature, bonds permanently, and is far more durable. For anything that needs to stick, Apoxie is the better choice.

Good to Know

It cures rigid. If you need a flexible end result (cloaks, straps, thin parts that flex), Green Stuff or a flexible putty is a better choice.

This is not bright white. Stone White is a muted, ceramic-style white. If you need a vivid, opaque white, look at Aves Super White instead — it's a separate product designed for that purpose.

Expect stickiness early on. The first 10–20 minutes can feel quite tacky, especially with lighter variants. Water and gloves help, and the material becomes easier to handle as it firms up.

The working time is a strength — and a commitment. Once mixed, Parts A and B will set in 24 hours whether you've finished or not.

Texture changes during cure. Feels different at 10, 30, and 60 minutes. Normal — many sculptors prefer the firmer stage.
