Vallejo Metal Color Jet Exhaust Set groups four water-based acrylic metallics for painting jet engine exhausts. The selection combines aluminium with the burnt-metal, magnesium and jet-exhaust shades of the same Metal Color system, using aluminium pigments to create reflective metallic finishes without resorting to enamel or lacquer paints. The colours can be applied by airbrush, used with a brush and tinted directly in the airbrush cup with Model Air or Game Air colours. Each paint comes in a 32 ml eyedropper bottle with a hinged cap and stainless-steel mixing ball.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
