Vallejo Metal Color Dull Aluminium 77.717 is a muted metallic shade for aged, weathered or less reflective aluminium surfaces on scale models. It sits apart from the brighter aluminium colours by providing a restrained metal appearance without requiring a separate dulling coat. The 32 ml water-based formula contains aluminium pigments and is developed primarily for airbrush use. Brush application is also supported for individual panels, components and smaller metallic details.
- Apply directly by airbrush or dilute with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver.
- Recommended operating pressure: 15–20 PSI.
- Produces a quick-drying, self-levelling metallic layer.
- Wait 12 hours before masking the painted surface.
- Supplied in an eyedropper bottle with a stainless steel stirring ball.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
