Pure Kolinsky pointed round for classic watercolour. Yorkshire-made, outstanding value.
The Rosemary & Co Series 8 is a pure Kolinsky sable pointed round, handmade in Yorkshire, designed for watercolour painting. Like all Rosemary & Co brushes, it offers exceptional value — genuine Kolinsky quality at prices well below the continental competition.
Series 8 shares the same fundamental quality as Series 33 (the miniature painters' favourite) but is profiled for traditional watercolour work with proportions suited to longer strokes and larger washes. The Kolinsky hair provides excellent point retention, generous paint capacity, and the smooth flow that natural sable delivers. For watercolourists who want Kolinsky quality without premium European brand pricing, Series 8 is a smart choice.
What makes this brush special

Brush sizes are not standardised across brands — a Size 1 from one maker may differ from another. These brushes are handcrafted, so individual dimensions may vary by 1–2 mm.
How we measure a brushA visual guide to the measurements shown in the size chart above.
These are the same measurements shown in the size chart above. Brush sizes are not standardised across brands, so use these dimensions when comparing brushes within a series or between manufacturers.
Tuft Length
The visible length of the brush hairs, measured from the ferrule to the tip.
Belly Diameter
The widest point of the brush head. On round brushes, this is the widest part of the belly.
Total Length
The full measurement from the tip of the brush to the end of the handle.
How to care for your brush
Same care as all Kolinsky sable: rinse after use, clean with brush soap, reshape, store protected. Rosemary & Co brushes respond well to regular brush soap conditioning. Avoid metallic paints, solvents, and hot water.
