Product overview

The Iwata E-QD1 is the hose-mounted half of the QuickFit quick-release system. It screws onto a 1/8 BSP air hose and accepts the matching E-QDP-1/8 airbrush adaptor, allowing the connected airbrush to be detached without unscrewing its fitting.

  • Air flows only when the airbrush adaptor is clicked into place and shuts off automatically after release.
  • Push down on the hose adaptor to disconnect the airbrush.
  • The E-QDP-1/8 counterpart is required and sold separately; both parts are available from us.

What nozzle size do I need for miniatures?

0.3mm is the versatile all-rounder for base coats and priming; 0.2mm suits fine detail work. Larger nozzles (0.5mm) are for terrain and big surfaces.

Do I need a compressor with a tank?

A tank smooths the airflow and reduces pulsing, giving more consistent results — worth it if you spray regularly, but tankless compressors work fine for occasional use.

How do I keep an airbrush working well?

Flush with airbrush cleaner between colours and strip-clean after each session. Most spraying problems are cleaning problems.
