Product overview

The MS-01 LE is DSPIAE's magnetic paint mixer: a low red base that spins a small steel rotor inside a closed bottle. Put thinned paint and one rotor in the bottle, cap it, stand it on the pad and switch on. DSPIAE says 30–60 seconds normally does it. It runs at about 10000 rpm from a micro-USB cable. It will not stir thick paint, whether undiluted or thinned only for brushing.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
