Product overview

The M3 Stuart Platoon puts three plastic M3 light tanks in one box. Derived from the pre-war M2A4, the M3 kept that tank's 37mm gun and three hull-mounted machine guns. The British Army took the Stuart into battle first: about 170 fought in Operation Crusader and proved a match for most Axis tanks, their heavy losses owing more to the Afrika Korps' tactics and training than to its machines. From 1942 the British kept Stuarts out of tank duels and used them for reconnaissance, and after Kasserine Pass the US Army attached its light tanks to medium tank battalions in the same role. The box adds a decal sheet, stat cards and damage markers.
