Abteilung 502 Sunny Flesh Tone is an artist oil paint for figure and miniature painting, part of AK Interactive's ABT 502 oils. Where Basic Flesh Tone sets the mid skin base, Sunny Flesh Tone is the warm lighting tone: AK formulates it for the flesh-lighting stage, adding a toasted, sun-warmed brightness. As an oil it stays workable long enough to blend wet-on-wet, and it can be laid as a glaze over an acrylic base to warm the skin gradually rather than in one hit. Being part of the range, it mixes with the other flesh tones to push a complexion warmer or lighter. Abteilung's reduced-oil formula gives a more matte finish. It thins and cleans with white spirit. Supplied in a 20 ml tube.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
