Liquid mask is quite popular among modelers for protecting parts that don’t need to be painted. Our liquid mask has a characteristic blue tone and sweet smell of vanilla, is not aggressive and will not cause damage even on clear plastic parts. It dries quickly leaving the masked surface free of paint, and finally it can be removed as a thin elastic film.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
