Tamiya 1/35 Scale West German Leopard Tank Model Kit 35064
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of German main battle tank in 1:35 scale.
Although Germany was defeated in World War II, the West countries needed them as an ally against the new enemy - the USSR. Germany was relatively quickly accepted into NATO countries, and consequently, it could start activities to increase its military capabilities. At the beginning of the 1960s, the work began on the new main battle tank for Bundeswehr forces. The main armament of the vehicle was the 105 mm British L7A gun, the standard NATO tank gun of that period. As a result of subsequent upgrades, it has been equipped with a stabilizer that allows the fire on movement. The tank was also equipped with a modern rangefinder and infrared systems, allowing an effective fire at night. He has had several modifications and development versions before being withdrawn from service in the Bundeswehr in 2003. Leopard tanks used several countries, in some of them the tank is still in active service.
