AK Interactive Non Metallic Metal Steel Paints Set contains six matt 3rd Generation acrylic colours for simulating steel and silver through the NMM technique. The paints contain no metallic finish; the appearance of reflective metal is produced by arranging light and dark tones across the painted surface. The greys and blues can be mixed for smooth transitions, applied by brush with high coverage and adhesion, or airbrushed after dilution.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
