Tamiya 1/48 N.A. P-51D Mustang 8Th AF 61040
The kit proposed by Tamiya company includes a plastic model kit of American fighter in 1:48 scale.
One of the best American fighters of the Second World War is the Mustang. From a tactical standpoint, this was certainly one of the most important Allied aircraft. Mustangs were the first fighter which was able to escort heavy bombers throughout their route through enemy territory. Since their introduction into service, the loss of the US 8th Air Force, which has been carrying the weight of daily air raids in the context of the Great Air Offensive, has decreased considerably. The maximum speed and the ceiling allowed them to keep pace with the bombing and to capture and pull away enemy planes. This was assisted by an extra pair of wing MGs introduced into this version of the fighter. The Mustangs shot down most of the Luftwaffe aircraft from all Allied machines and were the only fighter aircraft that, under certain conditions, was able to catch up and shoot down the most modern German Me-262 jets.
The Tamiya kit allows building the US World War II-American North American P-51D Mustang together with the pilot. The box contains 2 frames with model elements, a frame parts with transparent parts and decals (allow reconstruction of the 352, 357 or 361 Fighter Squadrons of the USAAF Air Force).
Plastic parts should be cut out of frames, fit together and glued according to the assembly instruction. You should paint the whole model using modeling paints. It is important to remember that some plastic parts require painting before gluing. In the end, it is needed to apply decals according to markings or graphics in instruction.
