Aves Apoxie Sculpt is a two-part epoxy compound made by Aves Studio in the USA. Mix equal parts of Part A and Part B together, and you get a smooth, clay-like putty that you can sculpt, shape, texture, and tool for 1–3 hours before it begins to set. After 24 hours it cures into a rock-hard, permanent material with a semi-gloss finish.

It works like modelling clay but bonds like an epoxy — meaning it sticks permanently to most surfaces without needing primer or separate adhesive. Once cured, it can be sanded, drilled, carved, tapped, filed, and painted just like any rigid material.

This is the 113 g (¼ lb) tub set in Black. Each set contains one small tub of Part A and one small tub of Part B. The black colour is useful when you want a dark base tone — ideal for terrain, rocky textures, dark creature sculpts, or any project where a black starting point saves painting time.

▸ Use cold water to reduce sticking and help hold fine detail while sculpting.

▸ Wear nitrile gloves — especially with Black. The pigment can stain hands, tools, and surfaces if you're not careful.

▸ Wait for the 1-hour mark if you want to add fine details — the material firms up slightly and holds sharper impressions.

▸ The ¼ lb size is ideal for testing — this pack gives you enough to try the material across a few sessions before deciding on a larger quantity.

▸ Clean tools promptly — black pigment is harder to remove once it sets. Soap and water work while wet; Aves Finishing Solution handles stubborn residue.

▸ Store sealed and cool — old stock can develop a surface film. Keep lids tight for maximum shelf life.

⚠ It cures rigid. If you need a flexible end result (cloaks, straps, thin parts that flex), Green Stuff or a flexible putty is a better choice.

⚠ Black pigment stains. Coloured Apoxie Sculpt — especially Black — can leave marks on hands, clothing, and work surfaces. Wear gloves and protect your workspace.

⚠ The working time is a strength — and a commitment. Once mixed, Parts A and B will set in 24 hours whether you've finished or not.

⚠ Texture changes during cure. Feels different at 10, 30, and 60 minutes. Normal — many sculptors prefer the firmer stage.
