Vallejo Metal Color Metallic Panel Set contains four water-based acrylic metallics selected for painting panels on aircraft. The colours use aluminium pigments to produce a reflective metal finish without requiring enamel or lacquer metallic paints. They are formulated primarily for airbrush application but can also be used with a brush, and Vallejo states that they may be tinted directly in the airbrush cup with Model Air or Game Air colours. Each paint is supplied in a 32 ml bottle with a hinged cap, eyedropper closure and stainless-steel mixing ball.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
