Vallejo Metal Color Aluminium 77.701 is the range's standard aluminium shade, providing a neutral reference point between its brighter and darker metallic colours. This 32 ml water-based paint uses aluminium pigments and is intended primarily for airbrushing scale-model surfaces, although brush application is also supported. Its reflective, self-levelling layer suits general aluminium panels, components and exposed metal areas on plastic or metal models.
- Apply directly by airbrush or dilute with Vallejo Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver.
- Recommended compressor pressure: 15–20 PSI.
- Vallejo Gloss Black Primer is recommended beneath aircraft finishes.
- Allow the painted layer to stand for 12 hours before masking.
- The bottle contains a stainless steel stirring ball.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
