Product Description

The N3 needle (IWN-0753 / N0753) is the original 0.35mm fluid needle for the Neo for Iwata TRN1 — a gravity-feed, pistol-trigger airbrush popular with miniature painters and modellers who prefer trigger-style control.

Iwata manufactures this needle from precision-ground stainless steel with a consistently finished taper. It works in conjunction with the N3 nozzle (N0803) and nozzle cap (N1403) to deliver the TRN1's characteristic blend of fine detail and comfortable coverage at 0.35mm.

If your original needle has been bent, nicked, or worn, this is the part that brings your TRN1 back to factory performance. Bent needles are the single most common cause of erratic spray patterns in trigger-style airbrushes — and straightening rarely gives lasting results.

The 0.35mm size sits in a sweet spot between detail and coverage — fine enough for preshading and smooth blends on 28–32mm figures, but with enough flow for comfortable basecoating and panel work on larger subjects.

What's in the Box

1 × Iwata N3 Fluid Needle 0.35mm (IWN-0753) in original Iwata packaging.

Compatibility

✔ Direct fit: Neo for Iwata TRN1 (gravity-feed, pistol-trigger airbrush)

🔄 Conversion fit: Neo for Iwata TRN2 (side-feed) — requires additional N3 head base, N3 nozzle (N0803) and N3 nozzle cap (N1403)

✘ Does NOT fit: Neo CN, Neo BCN, Eclipse, Revolution, Hi-Line, Custom Micron, or any other Iwata series

Pairs with: N3 Nozzle (N0803) — if your needle was bent, check your nozzle too. A bent needle can deform the nozzle opening over time, causing leaks even with a fresh needle.

Pro Tips — Getting the Most from Your New Needle

Check your nozzle too. If your old needle was bent, it may have worn the nozzle into an oval shape. Replacing both the needle and nozzle together is the most reliable way to restore a clean spray pattern.

Inspect the needle packing. While you have the TRN1 open, check the needle seal — if it's dry or worn, apply a small amount of airbrush lubricant or glycerine to keep the trigger action smooth.

Never clean from the front. Always remove the needle from the back for cleaning. Pushing anything into the nozzle end risks bending the 0.35mm tip — the most common cause of needle damage.

Don't straighten — replace. Even a micro-bend that looks "fixed" will gradually damage your nozzle and produce inconsistent spray. A fresh needle is always the better fix.

TRN2 owners: You can convert your 0.5mm TRN2 to a finer 0.35mm setup using this needle plus the N3 head base, N3 nozzle, and N3 nozzle cap — a practical upgrade path if you want more detail without buying a second airbrush.

Worth Knowing

This needle is designed for the Neo TRN1. It does not drop into the Neo CN, Neo BCN, or other Iwata series — double-check your airbrush model before ordering.

A new needle alone won't fix all spray issues. If your nozzle is damaged, the needle packing is worn, or the paint channel is clogged, those problems need addressing separately.

At 0.35mm the tip is finer and more delicate than a 0.5mm needle — extra care needed when handling, cleaning, and storing your airbrush.

Ideal For

Miniature painters — basecoats, preshading, smooth blends on 28–32mm figures, vehicles & creatures

Scale modellers — panel lines, camo patterns, preshading on 1/72 to 1/35 kits

Trigger-airbrush users — anyone who prefers pistol-grip ergonomics over pencil-style

TRN2 conversion — upgrading a 0.5mm TRN2 to a finer 0.35mm detail setup
