Product overview

Black Magic Taro is the dark one: large heart-shaped leaves held above purple-black stems. On the living plant they come up green and deepen towards purple-black with age, and a single sheet carries that whole range at once. Its 65 leaves are printed, coloured and cut before they reach you — take one off and glue it wherever the scene wants it, whether that is a base, a diorama or open terrain.

  • Colour is what this sheet is for: the foliage runs from green through to a deep purple-black.
  • The plant behind it is frost-tender, and even the lightest winter frost can kill it.
  • Sizes differ from leaf to leaf, so a planting can be layered rather than uniform.

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
