Product overview

Brown 4 mm Small tufts have a reddish-brown colour and a strongly dry character for vegetation-poor desert and dry environments. They also suit red-planet scenery. Of the two Brown heights we stock, this is the 4 mm sheet, which can work as the main shade or sit alongside other dry tufts. Combining it with other sizes and colours widens the range of tones across a scene.

  • You get around 144 tufts on the Small sheet, the highest approximate count we publish for any sheet.
  • The same colour and height are also available as a Wild sheet containing around 70 tufts.
  • Every tuft separates from the sheet individually and needs no preparation.

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
