Product overview

MP-01 is DSPIAE's wet palette for acrylic and other water-based paints. A sponge in the tray holds water and passes it up through a water guiding paper to the palette paper on top, so paint stays workable while you paint and under the closed lid. Soak the sponge first, lay the guiding paper on it without air bubbles, then the palette paper shiny side up. Top up through the small end compartment, a little at a time. It is not for enamel or lacquer paints.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
