Product overview

The LVT-4 Buffalo was the most common Landing Vehicle Tracked of WWII, with more than 8,000 built for the US Navy, Marine Corps and Army. Planned as a ship-to-shore supply carrier, it was soon used as an assault and fire support vehicle too, and troops shortened "amphibious tractor" to amtrac. Its big rear ramp let out supplies, troops or light vehicles, giving the men inside a far better chance than front-ramp landing craft. It took Marines onto Japanese-held islands, Commandos across the Scheldt and Allied troops over the Rhine in Operation Plunder.
