AK Interactive Clear Doped Linen is a three-bottle set of 3rd Generation acrylics for the fabric finish shared by most First World War aircraft: AK's own point is that most aircraft of the period carried clear doped linen surfaces regardless of origin, which makes this the natural companion to both WWI boxes in the range — AK11710 WWI German Aircraft Colors and AK11711 WWI RFC & RNAS British Aircraft Colors. The three shades are the most common clear doped linen tones, including a whitish tone for bleached linen, and the label prints a four-step painting sequence for a fabric panel.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
