AK Interactive's Elixir Ink Set is built around Cyan, which AK pairs with two tertiary tones for vivid colour work on miniatures. The box holds three 30 ml dropper bottles — Eggplant, Lime Green and Cyan — and each ink mixes with acrylic paints to raise intensity, or is used neat with a brush or an airbrush. Thinned they act as filters and washes; over a finished base coat they layer without hiding it, because the range is formulated to stay transparent.

  • Set contains: AK16052 Eggplant, AK16049 Lime Green and AK16054 Cyan — all 30 ml, all acrylic
  • AK's own line for the range: the inks can be mixed with acrylic paints for more saturated tones, or used directly with a brush or an airbrush, as filters and washes, or in layers over base colours
  • AK prints two claims on the box and repeats them on every ink's page: the inks are semi-transparent, and their lightfastness is the highest — he publishes no number for it

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
