Product overview
Rank-and-file games ask for square footprints, but many modern miniatures come on round bases. These trays give a unit on 20 mm or 25 mm rounds a square footprint without touching the models. Each tray is a flat plate with round recesses on top and a square outside edge. The models stay on their own bases and are placed in the recesses, so the unit ranks up edge to edge with square-based regiments. Nothing is glued, nothing is prised off a base and nothing is rebased, so painted models are not at risk. The tray also keeps the unit together on the way to the table. It suits Kings of War, The 9th Age, Conquest and similar games.
Four conversions: 20 mm round to 20 mm square, 20 mm round to 25 mm square, 25 mm round to 25 mm square and 25 mm round to 30 mm square. The 20 to 25 and 25 to 30 conversions step up for games that ask for a larger square than the round base.
112 options. Both 20 mm conversions run from a single-base 1×1 up to 5×5. 25 mm to 25 mm runs from 2×1 up to 10×6, and 25 mm to 30 mm from 2×1 up to 9×6. A 10×6 tray holds 60 models.
Outside footprint is (bases across × square size) + 4 mm by (ranks × square size) + 4 mm. A 5×2 tray of 25 mm squares measures 129 × 54 mm. Overall thickness is 4.5 mm.
Each option states the round base size it is cut for. The spec table lists the measured footprint, height, seat diameter and wall for every option.
Black PLA, FDM 3D-printed to order from an in-house design. Fine layer lines and a Z-seam are normal on a printed part, not defects, and disappear under primer.
It means seven positions wide and five positions deep, for a total of 35 positions. Always confirm the listed base fit as the same formation can be available for different base formats.
How do I choose the right movement tray+
Match the tray to the shape and size of the bases you are using, then choose the formation you need. Check the selected product's drawing and specifications for base fit and overall tray footprint; do not choose by model count alon
How should I use the technical drawing?+
Choose your option first, then use the technical drawing and Technical Specifications to check the physical dimensions of the product. When matching an existing part or accessory, use the drawing rather than relying on the product name alone.
Can I rely on the nominal size alone?+
No. Products with similar nominal sizes can have different physical dimensions or fit differently across brands and systems. Check the technical drawing, specifications and any product-specific compatibility note before ordering.

Would it be possible to purchase 25mm round to square trays in sizes not listed? I ask as I would like a tray set for 30 models on 25mm round bases to form a 6x5 movement tray. Ideally I would like 3 of these an a try for 40 models. Thanks

Thanks for your question! We have already designed and implemented the trays you’re looking for, and they are available on our eBay shop.
As of March 24, 2025, Shopify (which powers this store) still has a 100-variant limit per product, which means we had to limit the available tray variations here to 100, even though our full range includes 166 different types. However, our eBay shop has all of them available.
The good news is that Shopify is increasing the variant limit from 100 to 2000, with the change expected in Q1 – early Q2 2025. As soon as that update goes live, we will be adding all tray variations to this store.
For now, I recommend purchasing any missing trays from our eBay shop. Let me know if you need a link or any further assistance!
