AK8271 gives fantasy groundwork a black 2 mm vegetation option for scenes where familiar grass colours would undermine the setting. A modeller could use it among charred ruins, across a blighted landscape or beside a dark-armoured figure, treating the tufts as deliberate scenic accents rather than natural lawn. Repeating black vegetation near selected features can tie the ground to the model’s palette while keeping the surrounding terrain readable.

Notes · Q & A
What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?+
That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.
Are tufts self-adhesive?+
Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.
How do I apply static grass?+
Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
