AK Interactive Heavy Muddy Weathering Set is a five-item mixed-media set for building heavy mud, wet earth, dampness, rain and standing-water effects on scale vehicle models. It combines three enamel weathering products, one powder pigment and a plaster powder set. The plaster adds depth and volume to the mud, while the pigment and the Wet Effects Fluid can be mixed with it to vary the effect; AK publishes no required layering order for the five products.

Set contains: AK078 Damp Earth (Enamel, 35 ml), AK079 Wet Effects Fluid (Enamel, 35 ml), AK080 Summer Kursk Earth (Enamel, 35 ml), AK081 Dark Earth Pigment (Pigment, 35 ml) and a plaster powder set
The blister prints "35ml x 4 jars" and counts the contents as three weathering products, one pigment and one plaster powder set
Damp Earth can be applied as a wash or mixed with plaster; AK states that this individual enamel develops a satin effect when dry, to represent wet or damp earth

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
