Kaleido Colorworks KT103 Airbrush Cleaner 60ml — 44520
Kaleido Colorworks · RapidAir
The everyday airbrush thinner for Kaleido RapidAir paints, 210ml. Adjusts viscosity without compromising coverage, adhesion, or gloss. Water-based, non-toxic, solvent-free. Recommended ratio: Paint : Thinner = 5:1, adjustable to your needs.
🎨 Your Default Thinner
KT201 is the bottle you'll reach for most often in the Kaleido system. Kaleido RapidAir paints come pre-thinned and ready to spray through 0.3–0.5mm nozzles, but you'll still want to fine-tune depending on your setup, pressure, and the effect you're after.
Unlike plain water — which can break down the paint's binding agents and introduce graininess — KT201 is formulated to maintain coverage, adhesion, and gloss while thinning. Users switching from DIY water/IPA mixes report smoother results, especially on gloss and metallic finishes where every imperfection shows.
⚗️ Formulated for Airbrush Performance
KT201 is designed to adjust spraying concentration without affecting coverage or adhesion. It applies evenly with minimal risk of sagging — equally suited to fine lines and large-area coverage.
A practical starting point from user testing: approximately 0.5ml of paint + 2 drops of KT201 gives a smooth, glossy layer through a fine nozzle. Or follow Kaleido's recommended 5:1 paint-to-thinner ratio and adjust from there.
Unlike the KT202 Retarder Thinner, KT201 doesn't contain retarding agents — so drying time stays normal. Use it when you need to thin without changing how fast the paint dries.
💎 The Kaleido Core Trio — Where KT201 Fits
| Product | What It Does | When to Use |
| KT201 Thinner ← this | Adjusts paint consistency | Every session — default thinner |
| KT202 Retarder | Thins + slows drying time | Blending, glosses, warm conditions |
| KT203 Cleaner | Dissolves and flushes paint | Between colours and after sessions |
All three also available in 60ml travel sizes (KT101 / KT102 / KT103).

💡 Pro Tips
Start with the 5:1 ratio — Kaleido recommends 5 parts paint to 1 part thinner as a baseline. From there, add more or less depending on your nozzle size, pressure, and how thin you want the layer.
Don't over-thin — too much thinner reduces coverage and adhesion. If paint flows poorly despite thinning, the issue may be pressure, nozzle blockage, or paint build-up — not paint thickness.
Add KT202 for blending and glosses — if you're getting tip dry or need more working time on the surface, a drop or two of KT202 Retarder alongside KT201 gives you independent control over viscosity and drying speed.
Better than water, every time — water can break down the paint's binders and cause graininess. KT201 preserves the paint's chemistry while thinning. The difference shows most on gloss and metallic finishes.
⚖️ Worth Knowing
Water-based acrylics only — not designed for enamels, lacquers, or solvent-based paints. Use the paint system's own thinner for those.
Won't solve tip dry on its own — KT201 is a thinner, not a retarder. If fast drying at the needle is your main issue, you want the KT202 Retarder Thinner instead (or both together).
Over-thinning weakens the paint — like any thinner, too much will reduce coverage, adhesion, and mechanical durability. Thin gradually and test on a palette or scrap piece first.
Most valuable for Kaleido users — if you use multiple paint brands and prefer one universal thinner, KT201's advantage is smaller. It's at its best within the Kaleido ecosystem.
