44131 — 0.5mm Needle for Mobius TG Trigger Airbrush
44131 — 0.5mm Needle for Mobius TG Trigger Airbrush
Polished stainless steel high-flow needle. Built to put paint down fast and wide.
Why This Needle
✦ Genuine Gaahleri part — polished stainless steel, drop-in fit for Mobius TG
✦ High-flow 0.5mm — built for serious coverage, primers, varnishes, and thicker paints
✦ Wide spray patterns — delivers clean, atomised passes 2–3" wide from just a few inches away
✦ Restores factory performance — eliminates erratic spray from bent or worn needles
✦ TG-specific — designed for the trigger-grip Mobius, not the standard Mobius SP
Product Description
This is the original 0.5mm fluid needle for the Gaahleri Mobius TG — the trigger-grip, high-flow variant in the Mobius Premium family. Together with the 0.5mm nozzle and fan cap, this needle forms the TG's coverage setup — designed to put down large amounts of paint quickly and evenly over wide areas.
In testing, the Mobius TG with its 0.5mm needle delivers well-atomised spray patterns 2–3 inches wide at moderate distance and 25 PSI. Reviewers describe it as a genuine workhorse — it handles primers, varnishes, and slightly thicker-bodied paints with ease, making it practical for everything from large-scale model coverage to terrain painting and even small spot repairs.
If your original needle has been bent, nicked, or worn, this is a direct replacement that restores factory flow and pattern quality. A bent needle — even one that's been "straightened" — will gradually deform your nozzle and produce inconsistent spray.
Important: This needle is designed specifically for the Mobius TG. The 0.5mm needle for the standard Mobius SP / Premium is a different part and will not fit the TG — and vice versa.

Pro Tips — Working with the 0.5mm TG
Control your trigger travel. The TG at 0.5mm delivers a lot of paint — even partial trigger pull puts down serious volume. Start with minimal pull and build up, especially on smaller subjects.
Mind your distance. At close range, the 0.5mm TG can flood a surface quickly. Work at 4–6 inches for controlled coverage, and move steadily — this isn't a detail brush, it's a coverage tool.
Check your nozzle too. If your old needle was bent, it may have deformed the nozzle bore. Replacing both together gives you the best chance of a clean, even pattern.
Don't straighten — replace. Even a micro-bend will gradually damage your nozzle and produce inconsistent spray. Fresh needle, fresh start.
0.3 vs 0.5 — choose by task. The 0.3mm TG needle gives you detail and tighter control. The 0.5mm is for when you need to get paint down fast and wide. Most TG owners swap between both depending on the job.
Worth Knowing
This needle fits the Mobius TG only. It is not the same part as the 0.5mm needle for the standard Mobius SP / Premium — they are not interchangeable.
0.5mm is a coverage needle, not a detail tool. Overspray is significantly greater than with 0.3mm — for fine lines and precision work, switch to the 0.3mm head setup.
The TG at 0.5mm puts down a lot of paint quickly. It's easy to flood a surface if you're not managing trigger travel, distance, and speed — practice on scrap before going straight to a model.
A new needle alone won't fix issues caused by a damaged nozzle, worn packing, or clogged paint channels. Diagnose the actual cause before ordering parts.
Ideal For
✦ Priming and basecoating — fast, even coverage on large models, vehicles, and terrain
✦ Varnishing and clear coating — smooth, wide passes for consistent finishes
✦ Scale modellers — large panels, livery coats, full-surface coverage on 1/35 to 1/24 kits
✦ Any task where you need to put paint down fast — the TG at 0.5mm is built to work, not to finesse
