Product overview
Winsor & Newton painting and palette knives are made with hand-ground, tempered stainless steel blades set in dark hardwood handles with brass ferrules. The range comprises five palette knives (Nos. 2–5) with flat, rounded blades for mixing paint on the palette and scraping, plus ten painting knives (Nos. 20–30) with cranked, trowel-shaped blades for applying paint directly to the canvas. The cranked handle keeps knuckles clear of the wet surface. Blade lengths run from 30 mm (No. 24) to 120 mm (No. 2), with overall lengths from 175 to 250 mm. Suitable for oil, acrylic and alkyd paints.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?
Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
How do I keep tools in good condition?
Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
