Vallejo Hydration Sponge B90002 — Wet Palette Refill, Pack of 2 (SKU: VALB90002)

Two reusable PVA sponges for the Vallejo Wet Palette (Painter Size)

At a glance

Two reusable PVA sponges — the consumable that does the work in a wet palette, ready to swap in when your originals wear out.

High-density 3 mm PVA foam — holds plenty of water and releases it steadily to the paper above for even, lasting hydration.

White colour — so translucent papers show your paint colours accurately.

Reusable and easy to clean — rinse and use again rather than throwing away.

About this refill

The hydration sponge is the heart of a wet palette: it holds the water that keeps your paper — and your paint — moist. Over time sponges pick up pigment and lose their spring, so a fresh pair restores your palette to like-new performance.

This is a two-pack of Vallejo’s reusable PVA hydration sponges, cut to fit the Wet Palette Painter Size tray. High-density foam with good absorption, white so it won’t tint your view of the colours through the paper.

Good to know

This is a refill for the Vallejo Wet Palette Painter Size (B90001) — sponges only, no tray or paper. Moisten before use and keep it damp rather than soaked for the best results; over-wetting can thin your paint.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
