Tamiya Fine Pivot Drill Bits cover 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 mm holes for fine work in scale models. Each narrow cutting tip steps up to a 1.0 mm shank, giving the pin vise a larger, more stable gripping surface and limiting off-centre movement while drilling. The same design can be used on plastic, metal and wood, with each diameter supplied as a separate variant.
Available sizes are 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.4 mm and 0.5 mm.
Every size uses a 1.0 mm diameter shank.
The enlarged shank reduces movement in the chuck during drilling.
A specialised surface finish helps protect the fine bit against snapping.
Each drill bit comes in a dedicated plastic storage case.

Notes · Q & A
Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?+
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?+
Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
How do I keep tools in good condition?+
Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
