With #4000, 87185 is aimed at the transition from visible sanding correction to the preparation of a surface for buffing. It refines the remaining haze and smaller marks without asking compound to perform the whole correction on its own. The film is useful on painted finishes and transparent components where an even pre-polish matters, while its uncushioned format keeps the abrasive face close to the work.
Abrasive particles are spread evenly across a polyester carrier.
Plastic and metal can be worked dry, or the film may be used wet.
Included quantity is three; each film measures 93 x 228 mm and can be cut down.

Notes · Q & A
Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?+
Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.
What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?+
Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
How do I keep tools in good condition?+
Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
