Tamiya 87169 represents medium-grey rectangular paving blocks arranged in a diagonal herringbone pattern, with lighter grey joints separating them. The alternating zigzag layout reads as a prepared ground surface for block-paved streets, paths and courtyards rather than conventional horizontal wall brickwork. Raised printing adds physical relief to the coloured craft paper, providing textured groundwork for 1/35, 1/24 and 1/20 scale dioramas.
The A4 sheet measures 297 × 210 mm.
Small rectangular blocks form a regular herringbone layout.
Lighter joint lines contrast with the medium-grey paving.
Enamel and acrylic paints are suitable for repainting the surface.
Lacquer may be misted on in thin coats but must not be applied by brush.

Notes · Q & A
What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?+
That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.
Are tufts self-adhesive?+
Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.
How do I apply static grass?+
Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
