Tamiya XF-86 Flat Clear is a matt transparent top coat from the 10 ml Acrylic Mini range. It removes unwanted sheen from painted surfaces, leaving a smooth, non-reflective matt finish suited to military vehicles, armour and any subject where a subdued appearance is needed. Brush it over small areas or thin it for a full-coverage matt coat from an airbrush.

- Water-soluble acrylic resin formula; thinning and cleanup require only water.
- Kills glossy highlights on camouflage, armour plate and textile surfaces.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
