Tamiya X-19 Smoke is a translucent 10 ml acrylic designed to recreate tinted glass. Sprayed or brushed over clear plastic parts, it tints the surface without fully obscuring it, producing the darkened canopy or visor effect seen on modern aircraft and vehicle windscreens. Layering coats builds the depth of the tint gradually.
Colour designation X-19 Smoke — a translucent dark tint for glass effects.
Water-soluble acrylic resin; thins and cleans up with water.
Intended for clear parts: canopies, visors, windscreens.
Compatible with styrene resin, styrofoam, wood and standard model plastics.
Supplied in a 10 ml glass jar — Tamiya item 81519.

Notes · Q & A
What's the difference between a paint and a wash?+
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?+
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?+
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
