Monument Hobbies Pro Acryl Basing Texture is a textured acrylic paste for creating dirt, earth, concrete and snow effects on miniature bases and diorama surfaces. It is applied with a brush or squeezed directly from the tube, and can be thinned with water for different consistencies. The paste is ready to paint straight from the tube — no primer coat is needed — and is available in several earth tones at fine, coarse and extra-fine grain sizes, plus a snow texture.

Eight variants in three grain sizes: Fine (Grey, Red, Golden, Brown Earth), Coarse (Grey, Brown Earth), Extra Fine (Concrete) and Ultra Fine (Snow).
Apply with a brush or squeeze from the tube. Thin with water as needed.
Ready to paint over without priming; may also be primed for extra adhesion.
Non-toxic, conforms to ASTM D-4236. Made in the USA.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
