Product overview

The DSPIAE SF-20 is the largest parallel glass file in the range, measuring 165 mm long and 20 mm wide for long panels and open surfaces. Its increased gripping area supports extended passes while the broader etched face covers more of the part. Polishing performance is equivalent to sandpaper in the 10000–12000 grit range, without requiring paper or another abrasive layer.

  • Single-direction texture is cut into the tempered glass itself.
  • Use is restricted to plastic and hard woods; the file is not for metal.
  • Clean accumulated residue with water; a toothbrush helps restore the cutting action.
  • After use, place the glass blade back in its case; impact from dropping or throwing can break it.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.
