Product overview

The DSPIAE AT-HS is a hand stabiliser, not a vise or a photo-etch bender. It does not hold the model; you rest your working hand or tweezers on the long steel lever while the polished ball follows the angle of the task. The red pedestal stays on the bench, giving your hand a movable support rather than fixing the part in one position.

  • The support turns 360° horizontally and tilts through 235° vertically.
  • Construction combines aluminium alloy, stainless steel and POM components.
  • A removable foam pad inside the pedestal adds damping; take it out when freer ball movement is preferred.
  • The pedestal stands on a 56 mm square footprint.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
