Crusted Rust Deposits Weathering Set is a three-jar blister of AK's 35 ml enamel deposits for accumulated, crusted rust on a scale model. AK's own summary is the most common tones and texture of accumulated rust, and the three jars step through them — Light, Medium and Dark Rust Deposit. AK's instruction is that they can be applied straight from the bottle, directly onto the chosen areas of the model, and once dry they have the same scale appearance as real crusted rust. AK files the set under AFV and Military subjects, and the blister carries the AFV Series badge. All three jars are stocked by us separately as singles.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
