Product overview

AK9525 is the fine-scale option in AK’s rivet marking range, intended for 1:72 and 1:76 models. The three included tools are marked 0.35, 0.4 and 0.45 mm, giving you a graduated choice for restrained surface detail. Each toothed wheel presses negative-rivet indentations into plastic or resin, while the separate flat shanks let you change size without replacing a wheel on the tool itself.

  • Fits a standard 6 mm opening handle, including AK9011, AK9515 or a suitable tool from another brand.
  • Guide the wheel with tape laid on the model, run it along a ruler, or work slowly freehand.
  • Supplied in a clear hinged case with a black foam insert; each wheel hub is marked with its size.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
