AK8240 supplies 4.5 mm red vegetation for fantasy and science-fiction groundwork where natural grass would not suit the setting. A modeller might repeat the colour through a volcanic landscape, set it beside corrupted architecture or use it to echo red details on a figure. The result is a deliberate scenic colour choice that can link the model to its base without requiring the surrounding earth, rock or debris to be red as well.

  • AK states that the tufts work with different modelling scales without naming specific ones
  • The card identifies them as already stickable, and AK specifies tweezers for placement

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
