AK Interactive Real Colors WWII US Navy & USMC Aircraft Colors contains six lacquer paints covering the main finishes applied to American naval aircraft during the Second World War. The selection spans the early overall Light Grey scheme, Blue Grey over Light Grey, the 1943 tri-colour camouflage and the later overall Dark Sea Blue finish. It is intended for carrier- and shore-based US Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, with colours reproduced from period standards.
- Set contains (6 × 17 ml): RC889 M-485 Light Grey (Light Gull Grey FS 16440), RC923 M-485 Blue Grey, RC924 Sea Blue, RC925 Dark Sea Blue, RC908 Intermediate Blue, RC891 Insignia White
- Lacquer-based Real Colors with a soft matt finish, ready for weathering
- Covers US naval finishes from the early overall-grey scheme through late-war Dark Sea Blue
- Formulated for airbrush application; thin with RC701 or RC702 (or another lacquer-based thinner)

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?
Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.
Can I use these paints in an airbrush?
Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.
Do I need a primer?
Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
