Custom paint blends can be prepared, shaken and retained in the six empty bottles supplied with AK505 Mix N’ Ready. Each plastic bottle holds 17 ml, allowing a mixture to be stored for later use rather than discarded after one painting session. A stainless steel shaker ball is already fitted inside every bottle, so each stored blend has its own agitator.

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
