Dust and Dirt Deposits Weathering Set is a three-jar blister of AK's 35 ml enamel deposits built around one subject: accumulated dust and dirt on a scale model. AK's own summary is the most common tones of accumulated dirt and dust, and the three jars cover them — Sand Yellow, Light Dust and Brown Earth. AK's instruction is that they can be applied straight from the bottle or diluted, onto the chosen areas of the model, and once dry they have the same scale appearance as real dust and dirt. AK files the set under AFV, Military and Wargame subjects, and the blister carries the AFV Series badge. All three jars are stocked by us separately as singles.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
