AK8049 combines three fine-grained cork sheets in one pack, all measuring 200 × 300 mm: one at 1 mm, one at 2 mm and one at 3 mm. Having the gauges together lets a modeller select a shallow layer, build stepped levels or cut related details from the same grain. What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?
That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.
Are tufts self-adhesive?
Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.
How do I apply static grass?
Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
