AK8054 provides two 200 × 300 mm sheets of coarse-grained cork at 3 mm thickness. The material can be divided into road sections, broken masonry, raised groundwork or textured facade components, with enough depth to shape exposed edges rather than relying only on surface colour. In AK’s worked example, cork forms the base of an asphalt road before additional texture, acrylic colour and weathering materials are introduced.

What do tuft sizes like 2mm, 4mm and 6mm mean?

That's the grass fibre length. 2mm suits small bases and subtle ground cover, 4–6mm reads as fuller vegetation on 28–32mm miniature bases.

Are tufts self-adhesive?

Most modern tufts peel off their sheet with adhesive on the underside — press onto the base, no glue needed. Loose static grass is applied over PVA instead.

How do I apply static grass?

Brush PVA where you want grass, sprinkle or use an applicator, then tip off the excess once dry. An applicator makes fibres stand upright for a more natural look.
