Coarse 120 grit is the opening cut of the four grades in AK's sanding pad range: the grade for knocking down pronounced unevenness and levelling cured filler or putty before refinement begins. AK describes the sanding sponge as super flexible, allowing it to follow changing model contours instead of behaving like a rigid block. What does the grit number on a hand abrasive mean?

Why should I work through progressively finer grits?
