This AK Interactive Wargame Series starter set pairs fourteen 3rd Generation acrylics with a 28 mm Basilean Abbess, a Kings of War figure by Mantic, supplied unpainted. AK's own framing: the figure plays in Kings of War's Basilean faction or fits any other board game, and the fourteen colours widen a painter's range for any kind of figure. A printed painting guide is included, and the box front credits the painted example to Eduardo Fernández.

What's the difference between a paint and a wash?

Paints are opaque colour for coverage; washes are thin, pigmented fluids that flow into recesses to add shading and depth. Most painters use both.

Can I use these paints in an airbrush?

Many acrylics can be thinned for airbrushing — check the product description; ranges marked "Air" or "airbrush-ready" work straight from the bottle.

Do I need a primer?

Yes for bare plastic, resin or metal — primer gives paint a surface to grip and prevents chipping.
