Product overview

Green Stuff World's fluorescent acrylic rods are round, 25 cm long and packed five to a bag in a single colour. The 1.6 mm rods are made in green, blue, red-orange and purple, the 2.4 mm rods in green, blue and red-orange. Green Stuff World intend them for flying miniatures, assault troops and spaceships, and the pack card adds that you may create neon weapons with them, the strong colour standing in for an energy blade or a beam. They are easy to cut, so each rod can be trimmed to the length a flying model, a blade or a beam needs.

Notes · Q & A

Sprue cutters or a hobby knife — what do I actually need?

Cutters remove parts from the sprue cleanly; the knife trims the leftover nub and mould lines. You'll want both — they do different jobs.

What's the difference between single-blade and double-blade cutters?

Single-blade cutters shear against a flat anvil for an ultra-clean cut with less stress on the plastic; double-blade cutters are tougher for general work.

How do I keep tools in good condition?

Cut plastic only (never metal sprues or wire) with precision cutters, replace knife blades often, and keep files clear with a brass brush.
